Founded by Patrick Kok and Wouter Hofmeijer, Atelier Grand Slam brings a considered approach to the acquisition and confidential sale of significant automobiles. We combine clear client representation with focused commercial work, keeping the individual car, the collector's objectives and the quality of the decision at the centre of each mandate.
A shared commitment to significant automobiles, informed decisions and personal client representation.
The value of the partnership
Two complementary disciplines. One accountable relationship.
A successful acquisition or private sale needs both a clear brief and a credible route to market. Our partnership brings these responsibilities together, so commercial activity remains connected to the client's priorities throughout the process.
Client strategy & mandate management
This discipline gives the engagement its direction: understanding the existing collection, defining the role of the next automobile, agreeing commercial parameters and establishing the evidence required before a decision.
It also provides continuity. The brief, scope, responsibilities, disclosure permissions and next steps remain clear as opportunities develop, with the client involved at each material stage.
Market work & commercial execution
This discipline turns the brief into practical market activity: investigating suitable cars or prospective buyers, opening relevant conversations and assessing whether an opportunity is sufficiently credible to progress.
It brings commercial feedback into the decision early, including availability, seller expectations, specification and transaction considerations. Introductions are made selectively under the authority of the agreed mandate.
Judgement informed by both perspectives
We review opportunities together. A car may be desirable yet unsuitable for the brief; a promising introduction may still require stronger documentation or a more realistic commercial position. Combining these perspectives helps us identify what deserves deeper investigation and what should be left aside.
What we do
Representation shaped around the client.
Private acquisition
We represent collectors seeking a particular automobile or building a coherent collection. The search begins with specification, provenance, condition, intended use, location and budget. We investigate appropriate public and private channels, then assess each potential opportunity against that brief.
Where a car merits further attention, we coordinate discussions and the involvement of independent specialists. The model name is the starting point; the history and condition of the individual example determine the quality of the opportunity.
Confidential private sales
We work with owners and authorised representatives to establish whether a car fits our focus, how it should be positioned and which prospective buyers may be relevant. Marketing authority, information sharing and commercial terms are agreed before introductions progress.
Discretion means controlled, purposeful disclosure. We aim to present a documented automobile to an appropriate audience, with a clear understanding of ownership, authority to sell, condition and the proposed transaction.
A clear route from brief to decision
Personal attention. A structured process.
01 / Define
Establish the brief
Agree the client's objectives, acceptable specification, timing, commercial parameters, scope and disclosure permissions. A written mandate establishes who we represent and what we are authorised to do.
02 / Investigate
Explore suitable opportunities
Develop relevant market conversations, check availability and assess the fit of each opportunity. For a sale, establish the evidence and positioning needed for a credible introduction.
03 / Verify
Bring in the right specialists
Independent marque experts, inspectors and legal or tax advisers can assess provenance, technical condition, ownership, documentation and transaction requirements. We coordinate their involvement as appropriate to the mandate.
04 / Coordinate
Support an informed decision
Keep the parties aligned on findings, terms and next steps. Subject to the engagement, we coordinate inspection, transaction arrangements, escrow and transport with the relevant independent providers.
A focused collector perspective
Significance beyond the specification sheet.
Our Collector Index considers Bugatti, Ferrari, McLaren, Pagani, Mercedes-Benz, Koenigsegg and Aston Martin automobiles with historical, technical or design significance. It is an editorial framework for discussion, rather than a statement of current stock.
A useful collection has a reason for each automobile to be there. That reason may be a driving experience, a competition history, an engineering transition or a particular design language. We help translate those interests into a workable brief, while remaining attentive to originality, maintenance, documentation and the practical requirements of ownership.
Our approach rests on direct communication, a clearly defined mandate and evidence that supports the individual decision. Availability and transaction suitability are established for each opportunity, with commercial terms and any potential conflicts addressed openly.
