Private Acquisition
Buyer-led. Discreet. Mandate-based.
Atelier Grand Slam acts on the buy side for private collectors seeking automobiles that may be difficult to locate, privately held or rarely offered through conventional channels.
Three mandate formats
Single Automobile
We define the exact target, specification, provenance requirements and acquisition parameters.
Multi-Car
We coordinate multiple searches under one collector brief and a consistent diligence framework.
Collection Building
We pursue a marque, era or theme over time, prioritising significance rather than volume.
How a mandate progresses
Collector brief
Target model, acceptable variants, provenance, condition, jurisdiction, timing and commercial parameters.
Market search
Public and private channels, specialist networks, direct approaches and owner-led opportunities are explored where appropriate.
Diligence
Identity, ownership, documentation, provenance, condition and transaction counterparties are independently checked with relevant specialists.
Buyer representation
Subject to mandate scope, Atelier Grand Slam coordinates commercial discussions while remaining aligned with the buyer.
Transaction coordination
Legal, escrow, inspection, transport, tax and registration specialists can be coordinated as required for the transaction.
Post-acquisition
We can coordinate storage, transport, documentation and specialist introductions after completion.
Our scope
The Collector Index is the clearest expression of our focus, but a client brief may extend beyond it when the automobile meets our standards for rarity, significance and collector relevance.
From preference to a precise brief
A useful mandate records more than the preferred model. It considers acceptable specification, originality, restoration, mileage, location, intended use and the accompanying history expected by the buyer. Distinguishing essential requirements from preferences allows opportunities to be assessed consistently.
The quality of the evidence
An attractive presentation is the beginning of an enquiry. Factory documentation, ownership records, service invoices and an appropriate independent inspection provide a stronger basis for a decision. Any unresolved questions should remain visible when the buyer weighs an opportunity.
Representation agreed before introductions
Scope, fees, duration and disclosure permissions are agreed in writing. Any potential conflict or remuneration from another party must be disclosed and addressed before proceeding.
