Collector Index: Marque Chapter

Bugatti: The Grand Slam

A modern Bugatti collector lineage spanning the EB110 renaissance, world-record W16 era, track-only Bolide and the new Tourbillon generation.

The collector rationale

This chapter follows different reasons to collect Bugatti: the rebirth represented by the EB110, the performance achievements of the W16 family and the individual character of limited commissions. A complete lineage is one possible approach; a smaller group centred on engineering, design or driving experience can be equally considered. Selection begins with the role each car should fulfil.

Quad-turbo analogue-era flagship

Bugatti EB110 Super Sport

A defining bridge between Bugatti heritage and the marque’s modern hypercar era. The EB110 Super Sport sharpened the quad-turbo V12 EB110 into a rarer, lighter and more focused expression.

Chosen as the starting point of this modern Bugatti collection, the EB110 rewards a collector who values continuity as much as spectacle. Factory specification, the identity of major components and a documented specialist maintenance history should take precedence over presentation alone.

World-record W16 landmark

Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport World Record Edition

The five World Record Edition examples were created in the black exposed-carbon and orange specification associated with the Veyron Super Sport’s period world-speed record.

Its place here rests on the connection between a recognisable specification and a defining performance milestone. A collector should distinguish a documented World Record Edition from a car finished in similar colours, with factory records supporting the identity of the individual example.

Eight-car open-top record series

Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse World Record Edition

The Grand Sport Vitesse World Record Edition celebrates Bugatti’s 2013 open-top speed record of 408.84 km/h, with eight examples in a distinctive black-and-orange specification.

This selection brings the open-top record story into the collection. The relationship between edition identity, original colour specification and supporting documentation is central to assessing an individual car, alongside the condition and maintenance of its roof equipment.

Thirty-car record series

Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+

Limited to 30 customer cars, the Chiron Super Sport 300+ commemorates Bugatti becoming the first manufacturer to exceed 300 mph with a near-series Chiron derivative.

Selected for the way its long-tail form expresses a specific engineering objective, this car gives the collection a clear point of reference within the Chiron family. Original specification and a traceable service record matter more than the record association in isolation.

Forty-car limited series

Bugatti Divo

Limited to 40 examples, the Divo redirected the Chiron architecture toward agility, downforce and a more assertive coachbuilt identity.

The Divo is included to give the collection a different emphasis within the W16 family: response, body design and aerodynamic purpose. A considered acquisition should examine the exact factory configuration and the condition of its model-specific body and aerodynamic components.

Ten-car coachbuilt series

Bugatti Centodieci

Created in a series of ten, the Centodieci reinterprets the visual and engineering spirit of the EB110 through the Chiron platform.

The Centodieci creates a visual conversation with the EB110 at the beginning of this chapter. That relationship makes it especially relevant to a collection built around design continuity, while the individual commission and its documentation remain essential to understanding the car.

Unique one-of-one commission

Bugatti La Voiture Noire

La Voiture Noire is a one-off grand touring interpretation inspired by the Type 57 SC Atlantic and created as an individual modern Bugatti statement.

Included as a reference point for an individual commission, La Voiture Noire gives this chapter a coachbuilding dimension. Its presence in the index is editorial and should never be read as evidence of availability or access to the owner.

Ninety-nine-car roadster series

Bugatti W16 Mistral

The W16 Mistral was limited to 99 examples and closes the road-going story of Bugatti’s W16 engine in open-top form.

The Mistral adds an open-air perspective to the W16 collection. For an individual example, factory specification and any claimed special-edition identity should be established separately, with attention to the finish, cabin detailing and completeness of the supplied accessories.

Forty-car track-only series

Bugatti Bolide

The Bolide distils Bugatti’s quad-turbocharged W16 architecture into an uncompromising track-only machine, created without the packaging requirements of a road-going grand tourer.

The Bolide belongs here as a distinct track-focused collecting proposition. An acquisition brief should consider intended circuit use, technical support, operating history and the equipment accompanying the car, rather than treating it as interchangeable with a road-going Bugatti.

V16 hybrid successor

Bugatti Tourbillon

Limited to 250 planned examples, the Tourbillon opens Bugatti’s post-W16 era with a naturally aspirated V16 hybrid powertrain and an entirely new architecture.

Selected as the opening of a different technical chapter, the Tourbillon gives the collection a forward-looking boundary. Any prospective acquisition should establish the status of the specific car or contractual interest, the agreed specification and the documentation available for transfer.

Build the collection

Atelier Grand Slam considers buyer mandates for individual automobiles and, where appropriate, the considered assembly of a complete marque lineage. Every search is subject to owner willingness, availability, diligence and client-defined parameters.
